Be ready at midnight. Your driver will bring you to one of the highest viewpoints near Mt. Bromo to see the sunrise. Most famous is Mt. Pananjakan, but the spot can be very crowded during weekends or public holidays. Then it is also possible to see the sunrise from one of  the other viewpoints such as King Kong Hill or Seruni Hill

After the sun warmed you up, you can get back to your Jeep and prepare to cross the black sea of sand to get near Mt. Bromo. Ask the driver to stop anywhere, in case you would like to walk or to experience the ancient caldera in which Mt. Bromo rose. Otherwise the car will stop near Luhur Poten temple, from which it is a 45 minutes walk one way to the top of Mt. Bromo.

Once you are aware of where you are actually standing and experienced the marvelous surroundings walk slowly back to your Jeep. The driver will then bring you back to Cemara Lawang village, where you will change back to your comfortable car. Your tour continues to the Ijen Plateau via the winding road to cross Arak-Arak hill. You can have lunch (not included) and stretch your legs.

By the end of the afternoon you will arrive at the Plateau. If you have some energy left and the sun has not yet set, you can visit the coffee factory, a sulphuric hot spring and a waterfall.

The blue fire can only be seen when it is dark, which doesn't mean that 'it' isn't there during the day. If you wish to see this spectacular event, you will have to depart early morning. Around 01.00 you depart for a 45 minutes drive to Paltuding, from where your hike to the Ijen crater lake - also called kawah Ijen - starts. A guide, obligatory, will lead you in the dark up the mountain and into Ijen's crater. Please note that descending into the crater is not without risks; you should be fit and in a healthy condition.
When the sun is about to rise, you can make your way up to the crater rim to see the landscape changing faces in the early morning light.

If you wish to skip the trip to see the blue fire, 05.00 is a good time to depart to Paltuding. You will arrive around 07.30 at the top of Mt. Ijen from where you will have colorful views over the most acidic lake in the world, while sulphur miners are at work, carrying baskets of about 80 to 100 kg out of the crater.

Once back at the parking area, you can find the sulphur weighing area just behind it. When ready, meet your driver to continue to the Meru Betiri National Park.

Although the turtles come ashore almost every night, it isn't a guarantee that you will meet the turtles.

The next morning, if there are some baby turtles in the hatchery, you can release them on the beach. A special moment.

Herafter it is time to depart to Ketapang, where the ferry for Bali leaves.
