The entire area of Batu, including Selecta (specifically constructed as a tourism venue in 1928) is surrounded by mountains and hills. Mt. Welirang and Mt. Arjuna are at the north. To the south is Mt. Panderman, to the west lies Mt. Banyak, and to the east is the diminutive Mt. Wukir.

Batu makes for a charming place with much that will appeal to visitors and at least a day of exploring this beautiful area is a worthy part of any visit to Java.
